Great beach, good relaxing resort

5/55/5 • 30/11/2025

The beach is great. Not crowded and has soft white sand with clear waters. The resort has a good amount of activities that are included in the stay.

For food, I could typically find a few really good items at every meal after exploring the items a bit. The desserts were just ok in my opinion. I'm happy to see they don't use any plastic and are pretty eco-conscious overall.

Received a great and relaxing massage by Susana. She was very friendly, professional and experienced.

Trova in the food service was exceptionally friendly and helpful.

There were some small annoyances regarding sound, but I'm pretty sensitive to noise. Examples are flagpole banging around (I think that's what it was) during yoga and plumbing noises (I think) in the room. Nights were pretty quiet though which is what really counts.

Recent repeat trip to favourite resort

This resort is beautiful, located on the best beach in the world. Excellent sport facilities, the best scuba in N. America. Great food and entertainment. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to ensure you have a great time. We keep coming back because we have never seen anything better in our travels which have been extensive.

For the most part, good experience and multile room key issues.

4/54/5 • 29/11/2025

We just spent our Thanksgiving week with our adult daughter there. Some reviews noted the outdated facilities. True, after 45 years of existence, the room looked a bit outdated but perfectly adequate for a relaxing stay. It is also true that the wifi was spotty. We had trouble getting hot enough water at the peak late afternoon showering time. But these deficiencies were all within the tolerable range.

The best part of our stay was our massage sessions. My daughter and I had the VERY BEST massage we've had in our lives. Both Susana and Alma were amazingly good!

The food was generally good but the problem is there is only one restaurant, and it does not open for dinner until 7:00pm and the place becomes a bit like a crowded mess hall at times. If the one and only restaurant began serving dinner at 6:00 I bet the crowd could be evened out a bit. .

Our biggest complaint was, both check-in and check-out times, we had an issue with our room key. it was not fun to walk to our room on the far side of the compound only to find our key not working and had to go all the way back across the compound to have it re-programed at the receptionist and had to walk all the way back---especially if you have to do this at the end of a long traveling day. on the day we left, we extended our stay (for a fee) until 11:00 am but the room key stopped working (even before 10:00 am!) and got locked out of our room after returning from our breakfast. Again we had to do the trek to the receptionist to have my key re-activiated (and there was a long line for guests checking out), so we lost a previous half an hour of our extended time because of the Club Med's defective room key system! We were totally nonplused about it but the worst part was the attitude of the front desk staff who handled the key repragramming. They didn't know what to do to and took a long time to solve the issue and absolutely no words of apology or any courtesey. We understand English was not their native language, but a little "sorry" would have been nice.

Great place to visit and without children more relaxed than most

4/54/5 • 28/11/2025

his was about our 15th stay at a Club Med, and we have stayed at 7 different ones over the years. The setting is fabulous and the beach is spectacular. Drinks flow freely and even though the place was at about capacity we rarely had to wait to get served. The food was very Club Medish which is plentiful and good but not great. Because of its smaller size it has fewer activities but there was plenty to do and we were never board. The gym is small but has decent equipment.  They take guest out on snorkeling excursions twice a day and people we were with went once and said it was too hard to sign up so we never bothered. I would liked to have gone but....
The place is about 40 years old and some parts showed signs of wear. For example, our bathroom, while mostly clean, had the odder of a 40-year-old bathroom - not great. More and more people seem to be going for pickle ball and while they have converted a basketball court into several PB courts, they are situated in an East/West pattern. Courts should be NS to avoid a sun in your eyes issue.
Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful but we had some issues with the GOs. We speak only English and every time we go we get treated like second class citizens compared to the French speaking guests. For example, my wife and I were going to go kayaking and she got there a few minutes before me at @11:20. A water sports GO was helping her onto a kayak when I arrived at @11:25. She set off and the GO came back to the place to sign up just before the 11:30 cut off. He said, in a not too friendly voice, that they were closed until after lunch. As I sat there watching my wife paddle out to sea a French speaking couple came up and asked to go out in a sailboat, (or so I inferred from their conversation.) The GO first said no but then relented and sent them out in a boat as I sat there fuming. When I asked why he let them go and not me he answered in French.  This is by no means the first time this has happened and many of the GOs are simply rude to English speakers relative to their French speaking counterparts.
Still, we had a great time and will return in the future.
